Ok. Something isn't quite right with the setup.   I have o4, o3 and O2 in use and 8 panels per port.

I'll test over hard wire vs wireless. But something is off.

Any particular reason to skip Output #1 ?
And could you confirm, using the camera angle as a reference, where is O2 connecting?

on my 3x3 panel, I did use O1 and I started on Top Left per the camera view.

Here is a picture of one of my BBBs and Octoscroller. O1=JP1 on the board, O2 = JP2 on the board, etc. I used jp2,3,4 as o2,3,4 because when all my headers were soldered on the other board, and I was upside down looking over my panel I just plugged in my panels to the closest spot so my top 2 rows went to jp4, my middle 2 rows went to jp3 and my bottom two rows of the panel went to jp2.

I'm a bit confused on the arrows and what way they are supposed to go....my top 4 panels start at the octoscroller and flow --> to the panel 1 --> panel 2 --> panel 3 --> panel 4, then my next row the panels go the other way across such that really panel --4> panel 5 --> panel 6 --> panel 7 --> panel 8 all continue on a straight line. You can maybe see that if you look close enough on one of the other pics (in reply 52 shows it pretty good).

The arrows in the setup are to indicate if the panel is pointed up or down.  Simply match arrow direction with the up or down on the panel and your good.  In your setup rows 1,3,5 are up, and 2,4,6 are down.

Based on your pictures and information above, your setup should look like this.

Your Xlights horz matrix model should start in the Top Left.

thanks for the image on Dropbox. Quite helpful. Made me realize I was I thinking 8x3 for some reason instead of 6x4. My matrix is clearly 6x4 but I was getting tripped up that I couldn't have 8x3 if I'm just using three outputs. I'll give this another whirl tonight and post up some new videos if I'm successful.

Also noticed the refresh is a bit off and there is some flickering. I'll go hard wired vs wifi and see if that makes a difference as well we make sure I am not doing any debugging activity.

Much appreciated!!

I have the configuration working now...

p4, p3, p2, p1 (up)
p5, p6, p7, p8 (down)

Thanks for that help/hint!!

Now from the video above, there is a lot of glitching going on. Any idea what might be causing that? Anyone else notice anything similar? Running what I think is the latest version: v0.3.0-727-g2106a2b.

When xlights is paused on the output nothing is glitching. so it's a really strange one.

I created a new topic to troubleshoot this item....figured it was wise because I don't have any smoked boards because of the forewarning of how deep to put in my mounting screws!!

Thanks to all so far on getting this matrix up and running.

Looks good, except for that noise or whatever it is.
