Quick update.

Received the lights today, and i'm very happy with this purchase.  Lights looks real good, and they all have the two wire power injection leads in addition to the 3 wire quick connectors on either end.  I did question the shipping though, as I received an initial tracking number instantly, but no idea what it was.  Took about a week to get a real DHL tracking number.  I chatted with seller one day, and although no details were given he said wait three days and i'd have the tracking info, and to trust him.  I did, and that is exactly what happened.

I would likely order from him again.  Even at his prices now the same 20set lot would cost $290, which works out to $0.29/pixel, which is a good price.  I've never haggled over shipping charges with Ray, so that might be a better overall price?

Anyway, just my experience.

I asked about the P10 panels...he sells them for $10, which I think last I heard from Ray he was selling them at $11. Shipping was going to be $20 for 100nodes for me. Not sure when I add another 400 nodes and the panels, but anyways I'm likely going to order something in 2 weeks once my "allowance" comes in.

What about the "Each dot is digitally controlled, with an internal 5-bit PWM LED driver (15-bit color for 32,768 different shades)" statement?  I thought one would want only Color full rgb color,24bit,256 gray scale?

Well it's after the holidays how did your pixels far?

Where did you use them in your display?

initial pixel failure? water failure?

thanks

They worked very well.  Out of 16 strings that I used in my display this year, I had one pixel fail. I think it's both the blue and green channels in that one pixel as red appears to still work.  The wreath they are in is still on the house, but I'll be taking it down soon and will inspect/replace that node.

One thing that surprised me was that there was no color shift in the end pixels when running a length of 150 nodes!  There does appear to be an intensity difference in the first to last pixel, but nothing noticeable in the props I used them with.

The following is how they were used. 75 pixels in each of 5 porch columns, 50 pixels each in three kissing balls, 150 pixels for a wreath, and 100 pixels in a pixel star for my Dad.

Kissing balls, the wreath, and columns were all run as 150 length strings, except one column was only 75 pixels.

Charlie,
What is the spacing on these?  Seems to be getting shorter each year...  ;D  I need 3" center to center and last batch 2811's I bought were too short.

DIY LED Express has just a hair over 4" spacing.  I used them for doing 4" on center holes and they worked fine.

Funny you should ask. I pulled one out of the package and realized it seemed longer than the other strings I had (3"). Turns out it was 4" spacing. Perfect length for wrapping the front columns, but as I pulled out the second string, and all the other strings, they were all 3" spacing. Ended up using 1.5 strings pet column.

I should clarify. I purchased 20 strings. The two sealed bags had strings on 3" spacing, the 4 loose strings were 4" spacing, so my guess is that he probably carries both. I'm going to try and get 4" myself next time.

That is a great price, except shipping to the UK is three times the cost of the pixels...

He appears to have all wire colors and black wire, which I have 3-4 50pair sets already are only $.14 a piece. This seems like a great price, negotiate shipping a bit, and w0w.

OOPS those are 5V, ignore unless you are looking for 5V :)

He has all color wires (black, green, white and rgb), in both 12v @ $0.22/ea or 5v @ $0.16/ea.  Not sure about spacing though, need to ask him.
