Ok this is what I would like to do. Need to setup a remote Pi that would have to output DMX through RJ45 jack. Is this possible or am I stuck using a usb dongle.  :)

The RJ45 on the PI is an Ethernet jack and that is all it can and will do.  It is not capable of outputting DMX directly so you would need a dongle to get that output from the PI.

I was hoping that wasn't the case. Just another pieces of hardware to add to the box.

I output up to twelve universes of DMX from a RasPi FPP running in any mode, including Remote, but I use an "add-on" board from Falcon called the FPD (Falcon Pi Dongle). It attaches via a ribbon cable to a RasPi B, B+, 2 or 3.

That may just be a teaser for you since I don't know that any new ones are currently available. But, you might ask if anyone is selling theirs. That is very possible because the new F16v2 and F16v2R boards will also output 4 universes DMX, making the FPD board a duplicate for some.

I've used mine now for 3 seasons

The Pi can output DMX via the onboard serial port.  You just need a RS485 chip and supporting parts.  If you don't want to try to wire one up yourself, you could ping BigWaveDave and see if he will sell you one.  He has a small board that plugs into the Pi's GPIO header and it gives you a RS485 output via RJ45 jack.  This board is what I used when testing the code originally.

Here's another thread on the same topic.  It makes note of a small fix that you need to make to the /boot/config.txt file to get things working:
