Solved : Programming Channels
« on: November 06, 2016, 03:27:47 PM »
Hello,

Was hoping to get some help with programming channels on 2 of my F-16 V1 boards. I place fpp into bridge mode, have the board id set to 1, universe jumpers set, configuration utility setup, blue light on fpd, but I get no channels working after I hit program. Im sure the Pi and FPD are good because my hub and usc boards work on any of the 3 outputs on the fpd. Ive tried having the board id set to 0, 1, and others with no success. Attaching some photos to hopefully help with suggestions. Configuration utility is set to 192.168.1.16

Thanks in advance

As I recall you can not do that unless you are running FPP 1.9.  That was one of the things that I saw mentioned in the changes

- Patch to allow programming Falcon F16v1 and F8 (and presumably SSC/uSC firmware) connected via the BBB serial output or any other Pixelnet output on a Pi/BBB such as when using a USB RS-485 serial dongle.

I figured out my issue. Sometimes it takes writing a message before seeing the issue. I had 192.168.1.16 in the configuration utility instead of 192.168.0.16. I must have looked at that 100 times before.

Jim I didnt know there was a 1.9 fpp. Ill have to look for the update.

Good to know it works without the 1.9 upgrade as I have one to get configured soon.  Also an F8.

1.9 is "soft upgrade" and is not recommended unless you need one of the features added.  Info is in a thread and not a sticky under fpp

The change in v1.9 allows you to program the F16v1/F8 without the Pi/BBB being in bridge mode.  Prior to the v1.9 patch, you could only program in non-bridge mode if you had a FPD.  Now you can program using any pixelnet output device.  The v1.9 change allows you to tell the configuration utility that you have a FPD when you don't really have one.
