Fun with the vinyl cutter
« on: December 18, 2016, 04:29:03 AM »
Although I don't own a Falcon controller yet, I just decided to have some fun with the vinyl cutter.
David was kind enough to send me a high resolution version of the Falcon logo, and this morning I had a go with it.
And I am very happy how they turned out ! I used some leftover pieces of vinyl and made some different colors.

The colored ones are 10 cm wide, the etched glass ones are 7 cm wide, and I made some etched glass mirrored ones for the inside of a window or windshield.
Here they are with application paper and cut to size, I think they look awesome !

Not sure what to do with them, one of them is going on my car, and I might send the other ones to David if he wants, so he can add them as gift for people buying a controller or something. I haven't discussed this with him, though.

Very nice.
Sell them, donate $ to Dave & developers?  I'd buy one for $2.

Hmmmm, good idea. I'll check what shipping to the US is and update this topic or start a new one.

I'm on Tapatalk and didn't see where you were from when i replied. I was assuming the US where postage would be the price of a stamp, which is just under $0.50 (i think!)

No probs. I checked and I think one or two stickers would be around a dollar to send from holland to the US, so not too bad. So about three dollars for one and four dollars for two stickers including shipping would be acceptable ? I'll just subtract the shipping and when all stickers are sold, I'll donate it.

Yeah no problem. I  made it with Roland cutstudio, I believe that makes .stl files. I'll check tomorrow at work and post it.

Nice, I like it.  I wonder about putting "FalconChristmas.com" below the image on future runs so people know where to go if the sticker is put on a car window.

Hahaha no stl files, it's a cst file, I think they only work with Roland Cutstudio. But here it is, so you can try it out. I also include the high resolution logo I got from David, to import into your own cutsoftware.
The software won't let me post cst files, so I changed the extension to .gif. Turn it to cst after downloading to get the original file.

It looks awesome. I'd totally put one on my car. I think I like the red one the most.
