Differential reciver board pixel count.

I have a F16V2-R and looking to expand off of it  board and 4 receivers. With the differential expansion I am a little bit lost with everything. Will I need to run the F16 in 32 string mode? If so do the ports go as followed? receiver board #1   17,18,19,20 then receiver board #2  18,19,20,21 and so on? Can I split up the pixel count? For example 120 pixels on port 1 and ports 17 have the remaining 560 pixels?  :-\

Yes to all your questions except in 32 string mode the max output is 340 per port with the current firmware. That may change in the future.

Each individual port can support 340 pixels maximum.  The controller can support over 10,000 pixels as a whole. Differential board #2 has ports 21,22,23,24.  #3 has 25,26,27,28. #4 has 29,30,31,32.

Did they get all you questions?

The main board is strings 1-16


The expansion boards are 17-32


When you click to add the expansion, you do NOT loose your settings on the first 16 ports either, which was very nice to not rekey them..

I loaded up 1 with the plain string expansion and another with the differential expansion.  Ended up only using 2 of the differential boards of 4 because you could load it up so much.  Be nice when the F3 comes along and you can load up more per port, but David was mentioning making it so you can split the number of pixels between the differential and main boards on an individual basis more.

E.g. 640 total, but I only have 100 on port 16, so I can have 540 on port 32 if he gets that feature built in.

hello, how do I set up the f16v2 controller's  4 onboard ethernet ports to control the receiver boards?

Just to clarify.  I will allow the 680 pixels to be split between main board and expansion but the split will be the whole main board and the expansion not a per port basis.

Question:  using the F16V2-R Controller (shipping late February 2017) and a Differential Expansion Board and 4 Differential Receiver Boards... I do not plan to have ANY pixel strings connected locally at the F16V2-R controller.  All pixel strings will be connected to the Differential Receiver Boards scattered around the yard. 

So I do not want nor need any of the 640 pixels reserved for strings 1-16.   

Can I program the controller to have all 640 pixels for each string at ports 17-32 ?   Thats important for me to know before I order these boards which will ship in May.
