Recommendation for single run of AC lights
« on: March 08, 2017, 06:05:00 AM »
Our neighborhood does this thing where everybody outlines their yard in white AC mini bulbs. I'm adding pixels to our roofline this year, and need a way to turn the AC yard lights off during the show. It only consists of 3 strands daisy-chained, so I don't see any real reason to invest in a multi-channel  controller, because all but 1 channel would go unused.

Btw, for the pixels, I'm using a Pi3 and Falcon PiCap.

What are your recommendations?
People's misconceptions on adjustable suspensions usually come from a lack of knowledge.

Here something that will run 1 channel.

Here's something you don't see every day:

A wireless, 1-channel AC dimmable controller for Renard or Renard-DMX that can handle 7A at 120vac, all on a footprint that's less than 1" wide x 5" long.

Only the DIGWDF engineers would make something like this

728 lor channels
5492 pixels

I didn't necessarily mean a single channel per se, just that a 16 channel controller would be completely wasted for it's intended use. I know LOR makes a 4 channel controller, but I'm looking for other recommendations as I'm new to the hobby and I only controllers I know anything about are LOR and Falcon.

I am very new to this hobby as well, but I would imagine since you are already using a pi player that you would be able to control a single IO pin which would trigger a relay.
