What connection is required to control a DMX Moving Head
« on: August 08, 2017, 09:13:27 PM »
Afternoon.

I will be using the F16V3 for the 1st time this Christmas to control my lights. I will be introducing some LED moving heads and wanted to confirm what is the best adaptor to connect to the RJ45 for a 3PIN female DMX?

Would something like this work

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-pin-male-XLR-to-RJ45-adaptor-converts-CAT-5-Ethernet-cable-to-DMX-cable-/391850786971?hash=item5b3c20809b:g:hFIAAOSw6WdXiH41

Cheers

What all did your moving heads come with?
what types of cables came with them?

If they came with a cable like this then just utilize it!

If you want the cable longer change out the RJ45 end and a longer cable.

Take a CAT cable the length you need and cut to size and then just one end to make up!

or use a connector and what ever size Cat cable you need.
5 on Amazon for around $6 USD.

The pinout for the New DMX to RJ45 cable/connector is like below.
