F4V3 W Differential Expansion Boards
« on: August 28, 2017, 02:48:50 PM »
What is the maximum number of pixels that can be controlled per output with a F4V3 w/ 2 Differential Expansion Boards?  I am sure the information is somewhere on this forum, but I want to be sure I have my plan correct.  Also could we get the Specification Sheet updated with the new controllers and their capabilities?

Each of the 12 ports can output 1028 pixels.

A little clarification on this if you could please David?  I take this as 1024 pixels on all 12 outputs? Pixelcontroller.com says 340 with expansion in 12 string mode.

Expansion boards share ports with the main board. The number of pixels each board supports is configurable via the web interface. So port 1 on the main board shares a bucket of 1,024 pixels with port 1 on each expansion board.

I do not believe that is the same for the F4V3 with Differential.  I have mine configured for 12 outputs, each with 1024 pixels.  12k total pixels, 36k channels

Curious. What does the slider in the web interface show? Does the F4V3 support more than 1,024 per output?

No slider on F4V3 - consider the F16 has 16 ports with 1024 pixels per port. total =16k  The F4V3 has the same 16k, but only 12 ports max to put them out, therefore 12k

Thanks Sawdust, that's how I had mine configured too.  Didn't think this was possible... Guess it is!

This F4v3 is such a remarkable controller, I bought one even when I have no need for one......but next yoar I may have 10-12k more pixels to install.
