Pi Zero W...... onboard wifi?
« on: November 14, 2017, 01:31:21 PM »
Hey Folks,

I see some contradictory info floating around, just want to revisit this and check the progress.

Installing onto a zero w, i installed FPP on a b+, then made the storage to use the sd card, transferred the sd card to the zero and it runs fine, but just wondering about the onboard wifi connection.

is it not currently ready in V1.9 ?

IF i was to install Raspbian first, and then import the fpp install script, would this benefit or not?

any info you could give me would be great.

cheers
goat.

I think you need to install using a Pi3 that also has onboard wifi, but I have not gotten my zeroW out of the package yet.

Search for the Zero W thread that Paul (plaberge) posted in.  He posted some additional instructions for things he had to do to get the wireless working on the Zero W.  I have my Zero W connected up, but haven't had a chance to review his changes to see what we need to fix in the beta image I posted.  For now, you are better off following his posted instructions, since we probably won't see another SD image released until early next year.
