Configuring Lisn RV908M32 Using LED Studio
« on: January 23, 2018, 06:23:24 PM »
What's the trick for getting LED Studio to see the Linsn RV908M32 so I can save settings to it over a network cable without a sender card? I was able to locate the secret key strokes to get to the "Setup Hardware Parameters" page. Do I need to do something to get the "Remember LAN" option enabled on the Sender tab? Also, does the Linsn card have to be directly plugged into a gigabit port on the computer running LED Studio or can I just plug it into the same gigabit switch that the computer running LED Studio is plugged into?

I found the document below in the github and I am working my way through it now. We'll see if I can get it working.

If anyone has gotten this to work, let me know what version of Led Studio you used. I am unable to get the "Check Hardware" button to scan the network and find my RV908M32. Thanks!

At the very least, you are going to require a gigabit connection to the card.  You will need to plug that into a gibabit switch so that communication will be enabled.  After that you should be able to enable the Remember Lan option

I have everything plugged into a TrendNet gigabit switch. Same one I used to configure my Colorlight card but the "Remember LAN" option is disabled.

I think I figured out what the issue with this is.  I tried to configure a new RV908M32 card tonight and couldn't get LED Studio to recognize it when connected to the USB Gig-E adapter.  So, I plugged it into my Gig-E switch that the Windows PC's primary network interface was plugged into, and LED Studio was able to find the RV908M32.  After discovery, I marked the box to "remember LAN" and then switched the card back to the USB Gig-E adapter and LED Studio was still able to discover and talk to the card.

Can anyone having issues try to test this procedure and see if it works?  Maybe LED Studio can only do initial discovery on the first NIC in the system.

I have tried using the USB to ethernet adapter (amazon basics) and thru a Pro E giga switched (Netgear GS105E) and still can't seem to get the RV908M32 to be seeing by LEDSET. Do I need to ip addresses assigned to the USB ethernet? I sometimes see the green light on the board go solid but can't find any documentation on what it means.

Is it better to use a desktop PC verses a laptop?

I don't know about the Linsn card but the Amazon basic adapter will not work with the color light card from my experience.

Does any one know what the Green LED means. Most of the time it is off but sometimes it flashes or is solid green. Regardless I can seem to talk to the card. Do I need to take down the firewall?

Thanks
Mike
