Yea.. There was some difficulty obtaining one of the components in the quantity we needed (out of stock everywhere) so I had to order and test a replacement part which delayed things slightly.  I got an email this morning stating that the F8-PB should be in production next week which included a picture of the first assembled board (they build one, send pictures to make sure everything looks OK, then build the rest).   If I don't here anything more by Wed/Thurs, I'm planning on starting to bother them a bit more often.

Will there be any availability beyond the group buy?

In theory, yes.   I ordered an extra 15 or so mostly cause that triggered a couple of quantity discounts.  Example: the assembly labor is actually LESS to have them assemble 55 of them than it is for 50.  However, last years group buy did have a couple of boards that were not sellable (broken connectors, bad power buck, etc....)  so I need some extras "just in case".  Once the group buy boards are shipped, I SHOULD have extras to offer.

Can I ask if one should become available for my name to be added to the list?

I bought in the group buy but was a little limited on funds at the time so would be interested in another should extras become available.

Good news/Bad news....

Good:  The F8-PB and PocketScrollers are finished production, I got the pictures.  Things look good.

Bad:  The new F8-B's they messed up and put the BBB headers on the top.   At least it was caught before shipping, but they are going to have to fix those.

I'm HOPING they can ship the good stuff out soon and not wait for the fixes to be done on the others.   I'm waiting to hear what they say about that.

Thanks for the update.  My company just started dealing with board houses and it's amazing how much they screw up.

I kind of got that feeling.    When I said they are wrong, I'm thinking "20 boards, 2 headers, each 46 pins, right next to a bunch of other components, how is it even possible to fix?"

They are like:  "not a big deal, should just take a day or two to fix".     I'm assuming they have a LOT more practice at fixing these types of situations than I do.     I wouldn't know how to even start.

Hi Dan, On the F8, can you let know if one extra is available later down the road or should I just hit you up later?   I have two on order and was thinking a third one I could use.

I am getting SOOOO pissed off at Elecrow right now.   I think I need to find a new board shop.  Any recommendations?

Good news, more good news, and some very bad news:

Good news #1:  I received a box from China yesterday.  Bunch of boards in there.   I think my memorial day weekend will be spent testing and soldering PocketBeagle headers.  :)

Good news #2:  The F8-B v2 was included, fixed.  I've pushed the first set of changes to support it.  I've done some basic testing with it and all the on-board stuff looks like it works.  I need to test the expansion port, but it does look like if anyone would like an F8-B, I'll be able to offer some of them. (I have 18 to sell)  They would be the same $44.  Shipping becomes a bit more as they are larger than the F8-PB and have pins going both directions.   I can only fit 2 in a box or 1 plus one of either F8-PB/PocketScroller.  Thus, if interested, it will likely jump the shipping up to the Medium box.

Bad news:  The PocketScrollers are completely missing.  They aren't in the box.  The box had all the F8-PB's and F8-B's, but all the PocketScrollers are missing.    I've sent some email off to them and they are "pretty sure" they were in the box.   I had to send a bunch of pictures and weigh the box and stuff, but with them being in China, this may take a bit to figure out.  I really hope someone can just walk down to shipping and see them all sitting there or something.   Grrrr....

In any case, I'll be doing some testing of the F8-PB's and F8-B's over the next couple of days.    For those that did not order a PocketScroller, I'll try and get your orders out ASAP.  Once I hear back about the PocketScrollers, I can figure out what to do about the orders that includes those.   If they are sitting on a shelf ready to ship (forgot to put in the box), it may just be a couple days.   I don't really know at this point though.    That said, with 50ish F8-PB's to test, I have a lot to do right now anyway.

I just sent an email to my coworker who has dealt with the board houses to see if he would recommend any of them.  Not quite as bad as your situation but we had one of the companies send a mysterious "present" in a shipment around Xmas that held our stuff in customs for about a month.  After several attempts to figure out why we were not passing customs when all good were declared, the board house mentioned that they had included a light up deer as a present.  The problem is they said it was a value of $0. In the end after a lot of attempts to talk to customs we convinced them to take the deer and throw it away or do as they pleased to Rudolph and they released the boards.

Several months ago you said to wait to pay for the F8-B until they arrived in case something went wrong. I think your premonition was close having not received the scrollers. I still want one F8-B. Can I send it to your PayPal?

The PocketScroller boards have been found and will be shipped out real soon.  Yea!

As I expected, they built the PocketScrollers first, set them aside while the other board were being built so everything could ship together, then forgot to grab them to include in the shipment.
