MTM ACR8-72 Ammo Crate Build
« on: April 20, 2018, 12:02:13 PM »
I have seen numerous videos on builds in this enclosure, but unless I missed it,I haven't seen one with a F16v3 and an expansion board.

I am wondering what I should do as for cables for the boards. Since there will be 32 cables total, not sure I want 32 cable glands all over the box,not sure there would even be room to do so. This doesn't include the space needed for the power and RJ45 connectors.

Should I just use maybe a couple 3/4 clamp  and have multiple cables in each one? What have you guys done? or suggest?

I am close to doing this, waiting on a distroboard and then a trip and be back to it. Picked up glands off amazon that handle 8 cables each, so for 32 you are talking 4-5 glands is all.

I have used the cable clamps for 10+ years on my A/C LOR controllers with no issues. They have worked fine. I use the glans on my Falcons.

No need to follow anyone else. Come up with something that satisfies you.

I used these.  I was able to fit 8 pigtails per gland.

I dont have the regular expansion board, but I have two differential expansion boards. I havent put all my pigtails in yet but you can get the idea. The top row of eight large glands and the three center glands are actually special Ethernet glands. The second row of 16 are pg7 glands if I didnt have all the Ethernet glands, I could have easily added a second row of 16 pg7 glands. The two groups of four on the bottom right and left are for power injection pigtails which should accommodate four pigtails per gland for a total of 32.

Here are some pictures.

Thanks for the input guys,I appreciate it.

Instead of making another thread,I'm going to use BI IPV-1115 vent, but finding a 60x60 fan is more of an issue that I thought it would be. What are you guys using if any?

Yes, it is the IPV-115.  The Fan is a Noctua NF-A6x25 PWM
