18-3 stranded wire source
« on: May 05, 2018, 02:18:58 PM »
Has anyone found a good source for 18-3 wire? I find plenty by just googling but would like to hear what this group has found works best for the price. This will be used along with pigtails for my props. A link would be appreciated.

I bought 100 meters of wire from Ray several years ago to match the wire in my pixels and I still have not run out.  The longest I've used of that for any single connection was about 20ft.  Anything over that I use cat5.  I do keep my controllers as close to the props as possible and I do not use expansion boards on my F16s although I have put a single differential receiver on an F16v2/3.

I use Monoprice 4 conductor speaker wire, pure copper, stranded, and available in 18 AWG to 12 AWG in 100 ft spools.  If I need a 3 wire cord, I simply pull out one of the conductors from the outer cover.  I will then use that later.  I also love this for Power Injection as I can run two injection lines in the same cable and choose the AWG that is appropriate for the power run.
