v2.x - Remote-Start playlist stops remote FPPD
« on: May 13, 2018, 08:49:16 PM »
I downloaded and edited the remote start playlist script but when I run it it stops FPPD from running, If I send a script to run a remote script then it works fine but I cant use the script to run a remote playlist

Both Pi's are running the latest update as of 5/13/18   v
ersion:
v2.x-master-581-gcfe97eba (master branch

the ip of the master is 192.168.219.205
the ip of the remote is 192.168.219.206
the remote if switched to master can manually play the FSEQ in a playlist so I know thats good but when I put it in remote and trigger the playlist via the script below, it stops FPPD on .206

#!/bin/sh
###########################################################
# Remote-StartPlaylist.sh - Start a playlist on a remote  #
#                           system                        #
#                                                         #
# The Playlist will play once and then stop.              #
###########################################################

# Edit this line to hold the playlist name in quotes
PLAYLISTNAME="tune"

# Fill in the IP of the FPP instance where you want to start the playlist
REMOTEIP="192.168.219.206"

/usr/bin/curl "http://${REMOTEIP}/fppxml.php?command=startPlaylist&playList=${PLAYLISTNAME}"

the ip of the master is 192.168.219.206
the ip of the remote is 192.168.219.206

the ip of the master is 192.168.219.206
the ip of the remote should be 192.168.219.207
can't use the same ip on a network as one of the device will shut down there network port

I believe FPP is designed to Play the Playlist on the master and signal the remote the individual sequence to play.  The remote does not play a playlist.

ah ok so me setting it up to trigger an effect (ESEQ file) via a script is the way to go
