Connectivity--drop outs
« on: September 08, 2018, 04:35:33 PM »
Last season I had some drop outs on a wireless pi/F16V3 combo.   When I connected directly to the F16V3 with my laptop, I was still seeing issues, so I swapped it out for an F16V2R I had kept as a backup.  I used that config the rest of the season last year.   So, I am gearing up again for this year and I doing a "ping -t <ip address> with that F16V3 connected directly to my laptop with an ethernet cable.   The longest response time I have seen over the course of 2 hours or so is 10-12 mSec.   The vast majority of the responses are received in either 1 mSec or 2 mSec, so I think this F16V3 is good to go (I'm sending all universes to the F16V3 using xlights test signals when monitoring).   Anything else I should check?    Based on input from Mr. Pitts last year (I think I heard on a zoom conf), I am not going to use my pi's with my home wireless this year; I will hard wire my two pi's together.     Thoughts??   TIA
