I've made massive changes to my previously shared Controller and Power Distribution Worksheet which a lot of you have seen and/or used.  It is now much more flexible, automated, simplified and can handle things like virtual strings and pretty much any layout you can throw at it.  This worksheet will help you keep track of your setup, channels, controller and power distribution and usage.  It is very helpful for setup in xLights and the Falcon Player.
You can find the new version template to copy here:

Please give it a look, test it out, and provide any feedback you'd like regarding functionality, improvements or general criticisms...I'm always looking to improve upon it.  You can reach me here or through our website linked below. You can also view our live worksheet here to use as an example:

Some people use the HC-1 (USB only) and HC-1W (Wireless) boards for stand alone signs.  Check AliExpress.

Looking to up to a P10 panel group for Tune To sign this year, read every post that search will pull up and seems everyone is using FPP over BBB controllers. Seems because they run other things on the panels.
While looking at AliExpress and Ray Wu's panels I came across a WiFi controller needing just power and panels.

I really am not interested whatsoever in using FPP/BBB so I wonder if anyone is familiar with a controller like this that simply gives static text. Or any other method for static text. Simple, not endless programming and linking etc etc.

Thanks for any input.

Falcon Player (FPP) / Re: Master/Remote Network question
« Last post by jnealand on Today at 10:12:32 AM »
Normally the DHCP and Wifi are different networks.  Your computer has to be configured to access each network.  ie.  My laptop wifi always gets its address from the home network unless I change the wifi to the show network.  But my master has etho connected to the show network and the wifi to the home network.  The router on the show network connects via wifi to the remotes.  No need for the master to have wifi to the show network.  So it all depends on how you have setup your connections.

Falcon Player (FPP) / Master/Remote Network question
« Last post by Poporacer on Today at 10:06:38 AM »
I have a Master/Remote PI setup and on the  Master, I have the wlan0 set up Static and the eth0 as DCHP. I can access the web portal via the eth0 IP address but not by the wlan0 IP address. Is this by design?

I planned on running everything through audacity to see if it would help.
But I thought I would mention the problem and Supply the logs to see if it would help them make it a little more stable.
All the mp3s that I'm having problems with ran smoothly last year.

yeah, definitely a difference between 1 and 2, im sure they will work it all out

Thanks Al, that's good to know in advance.

Luckily I have a reel of decent 2-core wire handy.

Testing my Halloween show with 2.x and I'm having the fpp lock up randomly.
When I look at the fppd log I see, estimating duration from bitrate, this may be inaccurate. Header missing.
These are the same MP3 files that I used last year running my show in 1.x.

Hey Ed, I was getting a lot of MP# errors also, im still getting a few like I posted below but what helped me in the long run was dropping the MP3's into Audacity and exporting them using LAME mp3 at 192CBR, Not sure what your files are now but mine is running pretty smooth now after converting

warnings I still get:

[mp3 @ 0x7b4260] Could not update timestamps for skipped samples.

2018-08-19 09:38:33 (1496) mediaoutput/SDLOut.cpp:641:"FROSTY THE SNOWMAN.mp3" - [mp3 @ 0x7b4260] Could not update timestamps for discarded samples
