New to FPP and BBB
« on: January 01, 2019, 05:04:01 PM »
I'm trying to set up FPP on BBB. I'm able to load the latest image and was able to flash the image to the eMMC without issue. Where I'm running into issues is trying to set an external storage device. What I wanted to do was use the SD card for external storage and run FPP from the eMMC. But no matter what I try I when I try to use external storage it is telling me the device is not mounted. I've tried but SD card and USB. I've tried formatting both as ext4 and FAT32. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

You don't mention the size of the uSD or flash drive. Best results are 32gb or smaller.
Also, it always requires a reboot to mount the selected device.

16gb uSD. The USB was 64gb. So I was installing the drives with the BBB powered off. Are you saying I need to power up the BBB with the device connected and then reboot again after it comes up?

OK figured out my issue. I was using IE for a browser and it was never even acknowledging the fact that I was changing the setting. I tried Chrome just for the heck of it and everything worked fine.

Internet Explorer does seem to have "cache" problems with FPP, showing old information. Chrome has proven itself as the most FPP friendly browser.
