Digital meteor light;pixel tube with F48
« on: January 11, 2019, 03:11:28 PM »

Looking at buying the below pixel tube from Ray Wu.  Wife wants icicles across front of the house, will cost a little bit.  If I read right this will work with the F48 using the 4-String Differential Receiver Board.  I would then be able to run them linked together as a string and control each pixel separate.  Please let me know if I am correct on this????  It shows control mode SPI .  I had been looking at the individually LED full color Icicles string;DC12V WS2811 controlled;all white wire;IP68;60nodes/set,searchweb201602_2_10065_10068_10130_10890_10547_319_10546_317_10548_10545_10696_453_10084_454_10083_10618_431_10307_537_536_10059_10884_10887_100031_321_322_10103,searchweb201603_57,ppcSwitch_0&algo_expid=2c09dfa5-9d27-4380-b248-464ce798b134-23&algo_pvid=2c09dfa5-9d27-4380-b248-464ce798b134&transAbTest=ae803_5

My choice for icicles were the ones sold by Crockett.  I bought mine at last years expo since I didn't decide to do the icicles until way after the preorder sales.  Looked great and I got a lot of positive feedback on them.

Those may be overkill for your application.  Rays meteor lights are double-sided, so you wont see half the LEDs youre paying for.  I believe plasmadrive had Ray make some single-sided icicles for him using the WS2812 strips that looked really sharp.  Try searching under his name on and see what you find.

I have some of Rays that look like what jnealand linked, and theyre on the icicles backing made by Boscoyo.  They look nice.  My wife loved them this year and complained anytime they werent on.
