Newbie - PiCap powers Pi but not lights
« on: February 08, 2019, 08:57:32 PM »
Just got my Pi3b+ and PiCap 1.00. Connected via 12+ PS and the FPP boots up. (v2.5.3)

I have a set of 12v WS2811 100nodes connected but no lights. I following "DadsTechToys" youtube video "300 - PiCap "Hello World" Introduction".

No where in FPP did I setup controller as PiCap.

Any suggestions?

In FPP v2.x, you use the "Pi Pixel Strings" channel output.  Add an output, setup the first and/or second string, and save the config.  Reboot the PI to disable the onboard audio which conflicts with the WS281x pixel output, and then you should be able to control the lights using FPP's Channel Tester page.

Well.... Now when i download a simple sequence, the lights flash, but not anywhere like xlights show.

The sequence is 30 seconds and shows 6 different patterns for 5 seconds each. When it plays through FPP the lights flashes different colors for 5 seconds and freezes.

Any suggestions?

Once i updated to FPP 2.6 & xlights 2019.11 I was able to get the sequence to work.
