Can you take a picture of your PiHat and connections? Also a screenshot of the test screen will help. Pixels can only be wired in one way, meaning that there is usually a plug on each end of the string and only one of them is the correct one (Not all manufacturers are the same, but the majority use the male end for the input end of the string)

The strings are getting power I see one of the pixels light up red when plugged in

These are ray wu pixels tested on a previous v3 I had and are new with arrows pointing out

Pi Hat to Pixel should be connected to ARROW side.  As looking at arrow, V+ is left Data Center  V- right.
What is pixel voltage.  5V or 12V

Not sure how well u can see it but the ground is at top data then power as on the board with arrows pointing towards next pixel

So apparently when I removed the pigtails
It was cut on both ends btw
And I had them hooked up incorrectly this whole time 😔
But thanks to all that helped me track it down

 it was operator error
