« on: July 28, 2019, 04:08:47 PM »
Hi,

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I could not find and answer with a search.  What is the latests firmware for the F16V3, i have 2.5b22 but I saw somewhere that maybe an non-beta version of 2.5 is available but I cant find it.

The non-beta v2.50 (that supports Smart Receivers) is on the Support dropdown of the PixelController webpage (aka, "Store" at the top of this page)

Remember, you will need to do a Factory Reset with the Select button after it installs. Do a backup first to a file first.
Since you are already running 2.5b22, your bootloader is good to go.

Looks like v2.51 is now on the pixelcontroller.com site here: https://www.pixelcontroller.com/store/index.php?id_cms=9&controller=cms

And you should update to v2.5.1

V2.51
Fixed test mode bug. Would lock up network connection if test mode was selected when receiving E131/Artnet.
Fixed controller from dropping off network when FPP (Falcon Player) or xSchedule (running as FPP master) is on same network.
Fixed 2801 bug introduced with 2.50 firmware. Controller would crash if ws2801 was selected as pixel type.

Takes about 4 minutes. If you've already upgraded to any v2.x firmware and necessary bootloader, it is a simple as copying the "fl2" file to a uSD card. Doesn't need to be empty, but should be the ONLY "fl2" file on the card.
With power disconnected, insert uSD card.
Power on. Wait patiently until it says to remove uSD card.
Cycle the power.

Hi Jon,

I followed the instructions and the unit came up with 2.51 and the status page.  As I started to move about, I lost connectivity and the OLED keeps telling me to insert SD Card flashes fast.  When I insert the SD Card nothing happens where earlier it stated it detected the SD Card.  I tried power cycling it again as it stayed in this state for a bit and I am back to where I was before Insert SD Card.  Thoughts?
- Mark

I think I might have corrected this one.  I changed the mode to Standalone and I am guessing (reading other posts) that it is looking for the fseq files on the SD Card - Which I do not have any!  Did a factory reset per another post which brought it back to E1.31 mode.

One thing I noticed initially as it was upgrading, the OLED showed the WiFi address as all ????.  I am not seeing anywhere in the UI where I can enable the WiFi or set it up.  I tried moving through some posts, but not seeing anything definitive as to whether it should be available with 2.51 or if I am missing something.

Thanks a bunch,

Thanks Jon - I looked at the manual and it does not appear to have been updated.  Is there a document somewhere noting the changes being made and how to use them?

If I backup my configs before doing the firmware upgrade, will I be able to just do a basic 'restore' after the upgrade to 2.5.1 to put all of the settings back or will that conflict with anything in the new firmware?

I believe only .wav format files are allowed locally on the f16. Try that. (ie convert your mp3 to .wav and upload)

The wav files need to be on the uSD card. 48k bit rate  (the processor on the F16v3, F48 or F4v3 can't decode an MP3 file)
