I did not see anything about this on the forum, so I figured I would share this in case others might find it useful (sorry if it is a repeat).  I wanted to build a P5 tune-to sign, but did not have the time this year, so I decided to try a fairly inexpensive 32" TV with HDMI CEC control ($99 at Wal-Mart).  Since I do not want the TV on all the time, I needed to turn it on and off either by schedule or with the show.  This may be old-hat to others, but I was glad to find the process and wanted to share:

Step 1: SSH into the FPP and run the following command to get the CEC Utilities
sudo apt-get install cec-utils

Step 2: Run the following commands to turn the TV on or off:
Turn ON type: echo on 0 | cec-client -s -d 1
Turn OFF type: echo standby 0 | cec-client -s -d 1

I now have these in two separate script files that run at the start and end of the show:
Turn-ON.sh
#!/bin/sh
echo on 0 | cec-client -s -d 1

Turn-OFF.sh
#!/bin/sh
echo standby 0 | cec-client -s -d 1

The commands were found at the following site along with a few other notes.

Hope this can help others this year as we hit crunch time!  Good luck to everyone on their shows.
