SSC V1
« on: October 06, 2014, 12:59:59 PM »
Having a hard time getting these to work with the Falcon firmware.  I've tried a couple with the same results.  They work fine with the DLA Test/Regular firmware.  When I put the falcon firmware on I don't get anything when putting the jumper on for test mode or trying to configure using the falcon programmer (tried v11 and v12).

What am I doing wrong?  I love the v4 setup and would love to get these working also.

From my experience with that  firmware, test mode doesn't work (like the v4s do). I also in v12 of the software had to be sure to use a SSC v1/2/3 and not the v4 (incase you were using a v4 and didn't realize at the bottom of the screen there are three different options, usc, ssc1/2/3 and ssc4 ----going from memory, but believe that's the case). I programmed my modded SSC using the FPD (not sure if you are using that or an etherdongle). So don't have specific experience with the v1, but do with that firmware.  Hope this helps (some)

If I remember correctly the test jumper is to tell firmware that you did the resistor/trace cut mod on the v123

Ok so there is no test on the v1?

I'm using an etherdongle and yep I made sure I was using the v123 option in the program.  No lights at all and it doesn't work in xlights.

Do you have the blue jumper on or off. If you have not made ssc3 mod it should be on all the time. There is no test mode.

I tried both on and off but I'll try again just to make sure. Is there a test if I mod to v3?

No. It is the same firmware. Maybe I will update it after this season.

....also one quick thing.....I use the IPE and it shows me a lot of good info...below i programmed a F16 and then a SSC and you can see the differences. I program mine while connected to a power source. if that matters, not 100% sure, but if you aren't programming with the SSC connected to a hub give that a try.

Works fine just needed to have the jumper on.

That would be great if you can do the test for next year, I love that handy feature on the v4

Thanks for the help
