I have another question about the SanDevices E682 & PI:

1st- how many strings of pixel lights can I power with this controller, is it like approx. 160 Pixels per string (universes) and max of 7 strings per controller, is my calculation correct?

2nd- Should I consider buying my pixels in 5v or 12v, using the PI?

Thanks in advance

There are 16 output connecters on the 682 so depending on the length of the strings you could have 16 strings.

E1.31 Multicast, up to 7 universes (up 1,190 pixels)
E1.31 Unicast, up to 12 universes (up to 2,040 pixels)
Art-Net, up to 12 universes (up to 2.040 pixels)

Hello and thank you K State Fan, what do you mean by the length, is it the length of the full run strings, including joints, jumper, spacing and etc. or do you mean the amount of pixels?

I mean the number of pixels in the string.  I you have 500 pixels in your strings you will not be able to use all outputs.

So you mean if I have a total of 1190 pixels between 3 strings, I can only use 3 outputs, thats what you mean? or are the outputs, limited by a specific amount of pixels per output? (1190 divided by 16 outputs)

Are outputs the same as channels? Thanks

or are the outputs, limited by a specific amount of pixels per output? (1190 divided by 16 outputs)  No
