Using the "Pixelnet" blue LED to control a solid state relay
« on: April 28, 2015, 09:51:06 PM »
On the Falcon 16, when Pixelnet is sensed on the inputs, the little Blue LED flashes. No pixelnet, no blue.

Would it be possible to use that as a trigger for a Relay (mechanical or solid state) to control the 12vdc going to Pixel strings?

The reason would be that, as it currently exists, there is 12vdc applied to my pixel all the time, frequently 24/7, during display times or even just testing. Having power applied when not needed just increases the chances of galvanic corrosion or pixel damage. But if there was a relay, it could only apply the +12vdc when needed.
