12v Power supply best choice
« on: January 30, 2015, 07:04:42 PM »
With multiple presales going on or coming up.  Is there anything I should know between the 12v power supplies offered by diyledexpress, Seasonal Entertainment or Holiday Coro?  Or are they all about the same?

I've got DIYLED and HolidayCoro ones, I would personally go with DIYLED ones.  The fan on the HolidayCoro ones run all the time and are loud/annoying.

I have tried the 5v version from Ray... here are some other options --> http://www.aliexpress.com/store/group/meanwell-brand-power-supply/701799_258473016.html

I personally am using modified DL380 power supplies and they are work horses. Please don't search any of the forums though for any of my posts related to flex strips.....because you might find that my power supply is NOT the best choice.

I listen to the fan on my show computer all season long and I don't like stuff that causes issues.  That's what I needed to know.  Thanks for the confirmation.

What enclosure do you put those in?

Now my curiosity is rising.  I could put something like this in my main cabinet and run SPT cord supplying 12 to my Falcon hubs in the yard.  For the most part I'm only going to be running 12v nodes.
