Programming Falcon F16 v1 Using DLA Pixelnet USB Dongle
« on: July 25, 2015, 11:58:07 PM »
Okay, I've plugged in my Falcon F16 v1.03 from the recent pre-sale into a 12V power supply and I'm having difficulty programming it. I installed the latest Falcon Controller Software v1.2.2, put in all my settings, but when I click Program, I get a "Comport Error Occurred" message. I have a DLA USB Dongle flashed with Pixelnet firmware, so I figured that for the Method drop-down box, I would use "Serial", and "COM6".

I know that the Dongle works, since I have Vixen 2.1.1 set up to use the Dongle on the same COM port hooked up to a 4-port DLA Hub and I get blinky flashy.

What Serial device is the drop-down box referring to?

Note that when the F16 first gets power, the blue Pixelnet LED flashes in rapid succession for a second or so, and then turns off. Is that normal? When I run my Vixen test sequence, the blue LED doesn't do anything. Shouldn't it be on when it "sees" a PixelNet signal?

What are your F16-V1 input jumpers set to?  Universe 1 and 2?  (the USB Pixnet dongle will only put data on Universe 1)

As I recall the configuration software for the Falcons will not run using the USB pixelnet dongle.  Dave is supposed to fix this, but other priorities have held it up.  Sorry

This was fixed. I would use version 1.2.3 in download section.
