Buying cat5 on eBay
« on: August 09, 2015, 08:38:43 PM »
I have always liked Monoprice when it comes to patch cables but has anyone had good luck buying 1000' bulk on eBay.  I found this cat5e which looks like the same box as Monoprice.

After a quick look they look the same to me.

After you add shipping the Monoprice will run up closer to $100 and the e-bay looks like free shipping, you would save about $15 to 20 with the ebay vendor. The e-bay vendor as a large number of sales and looks like a positive rating.

I have bought cat 5 off of e-bay and had no problems.

Maybe others will chime in with their experience.

I have used Monoprice for other cables and they have quality stuff.

Thanks.

Patch cables I have had hit and miss quality on eBay.  One time I bought a 100' cable that wasn't even twisted.  Luckily a rabbit chewed it.  Ever since I have been buying the patch cables from Monoprice.

On the bulk cable the Monoprice and eBay seller both look like the same thing.  I may have to ask.  Don't like to spend the extra money but I hate communication issues even worse.  And I'm guessing with pixels I'm going to use it like zip cord.
