Build server for Linux
« on: August 14, 2015, 04:09:51 PM »
Chris (and all); have you heard of https://build.opensuse.org/

Chris Debenham just joined the developers of xLights. He is a Linux guy from Oracle.
He asked if we use this website to build our Linux binaries for xlights. He asked if anyone is using this site.
It looks like the site has 450 threads of cpu power and scripts to automate making builds.
38,000 projects are currently there being built across those threads at various times.

Just a thought for automating the build process of FPP

I haven't seen it before, but it looks interesting.  I created an account and may take a look at setting it up for FPP after I learn more about it.

I'm not sure how much it will help us since our binaries are for the Pi and BBB, but it could help with basic compile-testing on a couple Linux distributions used by developers.  Or maybe they support cross-compiling somehow and we could use it for the Pi and BBB.  Something to look at after v1.5 is out. :)

Thanks.
