We need a video to show how to set up FPP
« on: October 14, 2013, 10:03:18 PM »
I am looking for someone that has successfully setup the Falcon Pi player to help create a video of the steps that were taken. Video should first describe the hardware needed to run the FPP and well as possible providing links to where to get the hardware. (On Youtube links may be listed in description of video). This may help some setup the FPP.

This is something I will take a stab at.  I don't literally have one still in the box but I will dismantle mine and attempt a complete ground up installation.

Please give me a couple of days and I will see if I can get this done.

The FPP will only upload .fseq and .ogg files. Are your files of those types.

I wanted to give a quick update on this (I know I'm late).   I am very close and think I have a very good video so far.  The last piece I need to complete is navigating the interface and configuring universes, upload and schedule a show, and run it to lights.  (That sounds like a lot but it really is the finishing touches on what I hope will be considered a gold standard for building a Pi for the very new users out there with no clue of where to start)  I am hosting a group meet up this morning so I don't hope to finish this until much later today/tonight.  I am going to show the current video to the guys that come by today with the hope that they don't completely destroy my effort.  :)

Thanks,
Alan

at our group meet today, we can watch and provide commentary as you finish it off... :)   ;)

actually, I want to spend a good deal of my time today building my Halloween show:
  • LSP to drive spooky eyes, RGB floods on the house, and UV floods on the spider web and ghosts
  • xLights to convert LSP to .fseq via .lms
  • FPP (with wireless for good measure) connected to FPD
  • FPD connected via DMX to DMX wireless
  • DMX wireless to the various elements

Keep it going Alan and we should see your FPP video by the end of today :) That will be great and will help out so many people who are moving to using the FPP this year to run their shows.
