« on: September 19, 2015, 01:34:02 PM »
This is my Mega Grid now completed today. It is 147 pixels wide (16ft) by 32 strips (4ft) tall. It will be driven by a Falcon 16v2 with an expansion board  and 4 power supplies.

WOW!  Nice..  How does it look all setup and running?  Or have you not gotten that far yet?  I am in awe.

Like it - Look at my posts from last year...only difference mine was 90x32...a bit narrower.

I ran into issues with the red LEDs though. Thinking my problem was i sent too much voltage. my power supply would push 12.3v. hard to say for sure what happened and why...but something went weird on me.

Thanks everyone.

It is really quite simple.

Get 2 sheets of black coro.

LOTS of wire ties.

Build a support frame out of 1in PVC pipe.

Bolt and wire tie the coro to the frame.

Order 32 + spares of http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/5m-TM1809-dream-color-strip-30leds-m-in-silicon-tube-10pcs-TM1809-IC-each-meter/701799_693754057.html.

Get a calk gun and about 8 - 10 tubes of silicone.

Silicone the strips to the coro, Cut the feeder wire for each strip to so all the feeder wires end up being the same length and attach a plug on each wire, be sure to mark each wire with each strip number.

Plug it all into your Falcon16v2 and you have a Mega Grid.

I don't know, I think that we need a video to show how it's done.   ;)

Too late, all finished and ready to install.  8)

I could make a video of plugging in 32 connectors but that would be monotonous. LOL
