Added Pine 64 to FPP comparison page
« Reply #15 on: May 14, 2016, 08:47:10 PM »
I have 2 Pine64 in hand but haven't even booted them up yet.  I was waiting on the Debian image to stabilize a bit since our FPP install script is mainly targeted at Debian/Raspbian.

I have 512MB and 1GB models and the wireless board as well.

Given the specs of the Pi v3 though, these Pine64 are low priority for me to play with.

Yeah, guess the Pi 3 made this less appealing. Maybe when I get my pine I can find something to use it for (or sell it).

Thanks Capt. I do need to get at least 1 more Pi for this years show.

You actually got yours?  I keep seeing the updates from them about people making death threats over a $15 computer and delays after delays.  I haven't received anything yet, but I also don't really care.  I'm still on the Pi train.  If I promote non-Pi boards, so far it'll be BBB and maybe the CHIP.  Unfortunately I have been too busy to do much playing with the CHIP (or anything FPP, really) lately.

Yeah, mine was over 2 months late I believe and shipping info wasn't populated until a week or so after I got it.  I didn't get any accessories other than the wifi/Bluetooth board.  Orders with other accessories were supposed to ship even later. I should have got the 2GB version instead of the 1GB, the 2GB could have had more interesting uses once the OS is stable.

I received mine as well, haven't even attempted to boot it up yet though.

Just got my shipping notice. I guess now I should find something to do with it. Between it, an extra BBB and an extra RasPi, I need some home automation projects to tackle.

Edit:. After reading this, I probably won't put this anywhere near my lights or anything else important. http://hackaday.com/2016/04/21/pine64-the-un-review/

Well crap. I have a 2gb unit in order. I don't know enough to use it for much. It looked nice before the pi3 came out.
If someone wants to buy it let me know.
