Help Programming
« on: November 17, 2013, 04:58:37 PM »
Hey all,
Can you help me with some setup, I am a little lost.
I ordered some 4m flex strips and am having trouble programming them. I am using SSC V3s with Davids firmware.
The package says TM1809 digital strip.
When I open the smart string grouping utility I am not sure what to choose, I chose flexstrip 1809 DLA.
I wasnt sure how many channels would be on this strip so I chose 128 and hit program.
I got the usual rainbow lights, every 5th light it changed to another color.
Now I open Xlights and click on test. Choose the first channel in my range and 10 lights light up.
A little odd (since 5 lit when programming them) but I can work with it.
I choose every third channel (so only red is on) and I can see where to cut the string.
It turns out I only need 9 channels.
I go back into the smart string grouping program and choose 9 channels. All lights light up not just the 90 leds. This is not what happens on pixels, when you program a number of channels only that number lights up.
Anyway now I go into xlights an only the first 9 lights light up, not the first 9 channels (which should have been 90 LEDs)
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Select DLA 1809.
How many nodes do you what to control? This will be the node count.
Are you grouping any nodes? If not make sure group count is one.
Are you using hybrid or control channels? If not delselect those options.

The program confirmation (Rainbow every other 5 pattern) is just a confirmation, it is not representative of what you programmed.

thanks David,
I should know that.
I had the group count set to 10.
Set it to one and I am working.
Thanks.
