P10 Matrix Power Supply Connectors
« on: January 20, 2017, 07:44:27 PM »
So I searched and searched but I couldn't find what the connectors were if I wanted to make my own power cables. Well for the panels I bought, I found the right connectors. Hopefully, this will help somebody! :) Heres the links for the pictures and the attachment is the model number from Digikey. VHR-4N and ASVHSVH16K305. 4 pin Power Connectors for LED panel.

For the wires/jumpers, you can buy just the crimp ends. Again at Digikey.com, mfr # SVH-21T-P1.1

Otherwise, the pre-made ones were just black.

Correct, I bought the pre made wires since it was easier. Digikey has links to all the related parts that can be used together for people to find things.

These are the 18-22 crimp ends. There is also 16-20 crimp ends Digikey # 455-1319-1-ND

The pre-made cable referenced is 16 awg and it looks like it is rated to fit into the connector

Ya so I found the site because I had a BBB that I bought years ago and I wanted to make a ticker/scroller. I found this site by happen chance and a lot of research! Then I found the Octoscroller instructions and I had to do it! http://www.diychristmas.org/wiki/index.php?title=Building_an_Octoscroller_Matrix_Display . I ordered the panels and the cables were too short so I was determined to find the connectors to make my own and after hours of investigating I found them! I would like to say thank you guys for all the hard work! I ordered an octoscrolla from Hanson Electronics, waiting on that and I'll be done! :) Fingers crossed! :)

What do you mean? The panels or the connectors I linked that I bought from Digikey? I don't follow

burtonmadness is looking for the actual URL link to the parts from Digikey there nitro89.

Not a problem, just communication error maybe?  ::)

Here is the link for connectors:
http://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=VHR-4N

and for the jumpers that he is using:
http://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=ASVHSVH16K305

Just be aware that the links may fail soon as most suppliers update their catalogs regularly so the links may "break" before too long.

Wow, those wires are expensive, 30% of the price I paid for panels that came with wires.  I'd just extend those for that pricing!

O ya, I didn't put links in. I figured people could search the part numbers and find them if needed.
