I thought so but it doesn't hurt to put out my opinion after seeing some things over the years. Of course after your post things have gotten silly entertaining rather than productive. Oh, well.

So we had a little fun after the productive board design was done. It was all in good fun, and no harm was meant by any of the comments.

Of course, no problem. I just spoke up to let any ideas keep coming for a better product rather than improve each batch. The fun and games kinda took the wind out of the sails. But that's my problem, gotta have some fun too.

All in good fun. :) I received the first prototype run today. (The ones without the switch)

Comparison in size of output connectors from the original design...

Also tested the led's on 12v and love them.....

Tested them on 5v and love them as well...

Popped a fuse and pulled a fuse and the light shuts off perfectly....

All in I'm very happy with this design but will wait until the switch comes in and I test it before I open up the group by.

Looks good.
Just a few queries purely out of curiosity.
Were the original connectors 3.5mm pitch and you've changed to 5mm or 0.2"?
Will the leds and resistors handle being powered with 24 or 36V for those who might want to use the board for fairy lights or similar rather than pixels? There's also the possibility it could be used for feeding into buck converters to step down to 5V or 12V.

He said the boards have a certain value resistor that is good for all normally used voltages.

I have been away from this forum thread for a few days, so just noticed the "revised" designs with the twin-turbo V8 powered power distro block.  I was laughing my arse off from those - well done, Andy.   The engine detail was quite accurate.   Just out of curiosity, are you using Solidworks, AutoCAD, or something similar to do your design prototyping?

All in all the design revisions are looking very good.  The slide switch idea for the LEDs is clutch.

Thanks guys! The one with the switch will be here tomorrow according to DHL!! I will put up a quick video of testing the led's and switch along with blowing fuses etc on both 12v and 5v. Looking forward to getting this group buy started ASAP.

Oh and I use eagle for all my pcb layouts.

Not yet but the group buy will start this week. I received the final layout and everything tested beautifully I will post a video ASAP. I will also post a link here when I get the group buy typed up. Cost will be $12 a board if we get to a run of 500. Here are a couple pics from literally on the road in my truck traveling between offices. If I get home before 11:00 tonight I will get it kicked off tonight. If not it will be tomorrow. Thanks!

PS. Sorry for the bad pics. I will get better up very soon.....
