« on: August 25, 2016, 05:36:00 PM »
They were down for some work and its been more down than up since and its been down all day that I can tell.

Its been about 4 days since I got my last email alert which is quite unusual, usually I get several a day, now none in 4 days.

I've been checking it a few times an hour all day long and it's been up every time for me.

I can't ping it either.  This forum works fine as do several others.

It is working for me but is extremely slow to load at first. Once I am there it seems ok to go from one thread to another.

Those of you who can get to it, can you ping it and tell me if the IP is the same as whats in my ping window?  Maybe they moved servers and somewhere the DNS is cached for me.

tracert doityourselfchristmas.com comes back with 96.31.73.105
tracert does come back with a series of relays, but stops short of the final destination.

pinging that address comes back with zilch.

Have you tried going through a proxy site like anonymouse.org or similar to check to see if maybe there's an IP ban in effect?

Just received an email from Brian.  Seems as though his host added an IP filter to the site.  Have sent him my current IP, but that changes from time to time (AT&T) due to many different circumstances.  (I also move a lot during the day, from one side of the St. Louis Metro area, to the other, and back again.)  I wonder how many different "rejections" I'll encounter.

Yea, appears to be an IP thing.  Using my laptop, 2 desktops (one of which never been to DIYC) and phone through my WiFi here, nothing.  But when I shut off Wifi on phone and use air data, the site comes up.  I also TS'd into my web server and fired up a browser on it and its working there too.  So, clearly something was either blocking my IP or something between me and DIYC was down.  Every other site comes up for me so my suspicion was they put an IP ban on me for some reason.

This morning it appears to be working.  Who knows for how long.  Its slow as heck though.  Before they did the "maintenance" it was quick and responsive.  Now, not so much.
