It takes less than 2 minutes to raise all 9600 lights up the pole
Last year I the head had 16 hangers with 32 landings of (3) colors
per landing for a total of (96) 100 count strand of mini's

PS
I hand sanded and painted the pole after I put it up.
I like doing things the hard way LOL

That is one serious megatree!  It will probably outlast the house. :)
In one picture I can see part of a star at the top.  Do you take that down each year?  Are you using a cherry picker to get up that high?
Looks like one of your pvc sleeves broke.  Were there issues with the sleeve working properly?

Hey Rich
I kinda slipped and didnt take the start down last year LOL
But I am on a 32ft extension ladder working on the top.
The sleeve is actually a 4" PVC coupling but I had to sand the inside down so it would slide up and down the
4" Iron pole and then hammer it inside the 5" iron pipe that I made the head out of.
I had forced 2 of them inside the head but the 2 of them where too long and I broke the second one getting it out.

My plans are either
(32) strands of 80 pixels
Or
(24) strands of 100 pixels
For this year along with
(5) RGB Flex strip arches 90 pixels each
Then a matrix above drive way made out of (10 or 11) flex strips stacked on top of each other still have to build frame to see how many pixels wide.
And last but not least converting multi strand led house line to the new techno color pixels and flex strips
I am suppose to hit the lottery Saturday night then I can afford everything
LOL

If you are displaying images/pictures on your megatree, I think the 32x80 pixels will give you a better resolution than the 24x100 pixels.  I am assuming you're not folding the strands over make two sections on the megatree.  What may be a determining factor is how long you want the lighted section on the tree.  In my case, I have several small yard decorations on the ground in front of my megatree so the lighted portion of my tree starts two feet above the ground.  This also makes it easier to adjust for the slope in my yard.

I have not seen the techno color pixels- screw caps/covers released yet on Ray Wu's store front.  I know he has the light strings available with no screw tops.
What type of covers are you getting for yours?  Did I miss the release of the new covers? ???

Very interesting product.  I ordered one string from Ray with the default spacing of 10cm to play with.  I also ordered the smooth milky white c-9 push on covers.  I hope to have these in a couple of weeks.  If anyone in the Colorado Springs area wants to see them in person, let me know and we can set something up when I get them.
