This picture of my roof will give you an idea about my plans.
I'd like to put a "line" of those globes down between each column of snowflakes. That would be 12 lines.
The snowflakes are incandescents and fairly bright (when not encased in ice).
I think the spacing and shape of the globes would be better than any other pixel types I've considered.

I suppose I could convert the snowflakes to RGB. Then the decision would be "dumb" or "smart" pixels per snowflake.

Like the flakes.  How do you hold them on the roof, as I was thinking of doing something similar next year as well.

There is a single shingle clip in the middle. On a sunny day, I use a paint scraper to separate a layer of shingle, slide the clip in all the way, then the snowflake has a webbed area that it fits thru and holds very well. I've never had one blow loose, though it might rotate a little.

btw - I was on the roof when I saw your post, so this pic is brand new.

Perfect, thank you.  I grabbed some multi-color arcylic tube icicles today, have to figure out how those tick  ;)
