blown fuse? -- Solved
« on: November 22, 2016, 08:05:03 PM »
Hello. Im new to Falcon Controllers, decided to buy a PiCap for a first dive into Falcon. I usually use 5v WS2812B strips, everything worked great in test mode. I set the Pins 2&3, and kept the top 2 pins set to power the pi from the 5v LED power supply.

Today I got some 12v WS2811 Pixels and a 12v power supply. I removed the top 2 pins so the Pi wouldn't get power from the 12V LED power supply, instead I used a 5v supply to power the Pi. Anxious to test the WS2811 Pixels i plugged the 12v power supply forgetting the pins 2&3 were the only ones set. Immediately disconnected the power supply and set pins 1,2,3,&4. Plugged the power supply back in, but the PiCap green LED didn't turn on. Does this sound like a blown fuse?

also what are the fuses(F1,2 and F3), can they be bought somewhere online or local?

Thanks,
Keith

Could be. Most likely fired chips on PI hat since they got 12V instead of 5V. They are simple 2a mini fuse.
