Master/remote issue not syncing
« on: November 25, 2016, 07:02:19 PM »
So I'm having prombles getting my master pi to sync to my remote bbb. Haven't had this issue in the past and only thing I've changed since Halloween and Veterans Day was simply adding another standalone bbb for a 4 panel tune to sign. So my set up is a master pi hard wired to network switch ip 192.168.0.54. I'm trying to sync that to my bbb running 36 panel p10 matrix. And I'm getting the error i posted in the pic. My standalone bbb is on wifi 10.10.100 and my standalone pi is on wifi at 10.10.10.121.

Hard to read your picture clearly, but that looks like the error I got a few days ago. One of my Remotes listed in the Master list was shutdown and I didn't refresh the list before clicking Sync. When I did refresh, it dropped out of the list.

It just says max connections 2 reached try again later. Then the bottom says sync complete.

That is exactly what is happening here. I just tried it again. Was taking for ever waited  five minutes then clicked on status then back on multisync and it dropped connection. If I unplug bbb and plug it back in I can see it again it the multisync page.

Now if I try to change anything on the bbb like switch it to master/standalone/ or delete old files. Nothing will take. But I can navigate around the user interface fine and it restarts etc. just won't change anything

If it won't accept setting changes, then your data storage is either not mounted or mounted as Read Only.

What does FPP Settings say about Data Storage?

That first delete causes an error. Linux responds by making the drive read-only.

Save all the flash drive files to a desktop folder. Format that drive or a new one and copy those saved files back.

I use the SD card for storage. So I should remove it and reformat it and then try again

If it is a Pi, then you are storing data on the same disk as the Operating System. I'd add a USB drive, change data storage to it.

No it's the bbb I'm having issues with. The operating system is stored on the emmc. Then the ad card is used as storage

Then the SD card is simply Fat32 formatted, so you can do a backup, reformat, then copy back to it from the backup.
