Nutz4lights Display 2016
« on: December 12, 2016, 08:12:54 PM »

Hey all,

Thanks again to the Falcon Christmas team for keeping Christmas BRIGHT on Cape Sable Drive in Melbourne, Florida!  The videos below wouldn't be possible without quite a few Falcon products.... (although, the next time I try to complete ten controller builds in one year, I have requested that one of the local light nuts hit me upside the head with a bundle of pigtail connectors)...

17,500 ws2811 pixels (mostly 5V) driven by five Falcon F16V2R+Expansion controllers (each with four F8 Distro boards), five Falcon F4V2R controllers (each with two F8 Distro boards), one Sandevices e6804 and one Advatek PixLite4, and under the control of five FPP Raspberry Pi units.  All sequencing done from scratch using the latest xLights (of course we ALL see things that we like in other's sequences that get borrowed!).

Looks great!!  Love all the full display wipes from side to side.   What spacing is your mega tree?  180 or 360?

Thanks! Those full display wipes are super easy in xlights. You could definitely just use those and sequence a song in a few minutes probably.

The megatree is definitely an old fashioned megatree. I've had the same pole and star and approach to putting it up since there were incandescent mini lights hooked up to it in 2008 or so. It's 360 degrees for no real good reason other than that's what everybody used to do. It's 20 foot tall and 12 foot diameter with 48 poles. That yields around 9 inch pole spacing at the bottom. The lights are zip tied to the pole and are around 4 inch spaced vertically.

Thanks! Definitely couldn't be happier with how it turned out this year... we weren't allowed to do anything to the front two story part of the house til after thanksgiving due to delays in putting new windows and doors on the house... added stress to the season that's for sure...

Thanks Chad! Did you end up putting videos online? I sent a few folks down your way but wanted to show some videos of your megatree to family.

Louie, are you going to post your sequences again this year?  I am in the process of importing your 2015 Holly Jolly as I purchased the lyric tracks from Crockett for my Chromabulbs.  It is those lyric tracks that I am trying to get right.  I have not put the Chromabulbs out yet since I do not have any songs set up to make them sing yet.

I definitely can, but can you send me a pm?  That pm will stay in my inbox and I'm traveling today and tomorrow.

All,

I have attached all sequences from this year, along with the xLights files that I think are needed to play around with my sequences.  Let me know if something is missing.

Take care,

-Louie
