Second; Release 3.3.0
This is the release where we upgrade from the wxwidgets 2.9.5 library to wxwidgets 3.0.0. What does this mean? It means you may notice effects playing about a little faster, it gives us some abilities we didn't have before. Mostly, it is the plumbing and you wont notice anything.

This release has many changes from Don Julien. Thanks Don for keeping the flame alive!
some new meteor effects.
some new movements on text

try meteor with icicle with overlay clicked (checkbox below fit to time) with palette checked

3.3.0            -Enhancement (djulien): vixen 2.x routine as picture
-Enhancement (djulien): add checkbox to Effects panel to inhibit canvas clear before effect (for layers across models)
-Enhancement (djulien): allow cancelled schedule to re-run that same day
-Enhancement (djulien): show serial outbuf overflow amount
-Enhancement (djulien): add a couple of icicle options to Meteors
-Enhancement (djulien): add wavey left-to-right up/down option for text
-Enhancement (djulien): added additional format options for date count-down
-Enhancement (djulien): pass controller responses to plug-in (in-coming or round-trip data); internal change only - should not affect standard usage, but listed here just in case
-Enhancement (djulien): add /noauto command line option to prompt for auto-run (allows easier schedule override)
-Bug fix/enhancement? (djulien): show channel# being tested during Chase test
-Bug fix/enhancement? (djulien): continue execution after comm output overflow in case controller can catch up

thanks

I forgot to mention one other feature Don Julien added, new options for the countdown timer.

So to use this only put text in line 1

First scenario, countdown timer of seconds
Line 1: 123
Count Down: seconds
What you see: 123,122,121 counting down to zero.

Second Scenario: Countdown to a date in the future
   Format 'd h m s'
   Line 1: 09-feb-2014 23:59:59
   Count Down: To Date 'd h m s'
   What you will see: 31d 7h 37m 9s

   Format 'h m s'
   Line 1: 09-feb-2014 23:59:59
   Count Down: To Date 'd h m s'
   What you will see: 7h 37m 9s
NOTE: The hours are not showing total hours until the target date, it is only showing the remainder. We should probably change this

 Format 'm or s'
   Line 1: 09-feb-2014 23:59:59
Count Down: To Date 'm' or 's'
   What you will see: 454m
Note! it is only showing the remainder of minutes for the current day. We should probably change this

 Format 's'
   Line 1: 09-feb-2014 23:59:59
   Count Down: To Date 's'
   What you will see: 27700
Note! it is only showing the remainder of seconds for the current day. We should probably change this. We should probably add the 's' to end of line too

Thank you Sean for the countdown timer examples (aka
09-feb-2014 23:59:59 )

it was not intuitive what the format was expected. Would be great if I could show the current time on one line and date on the second.  Greedy me.

showing current date/time would require something in the pi player. when we generate nutcracker effects we build everything into the xseq or fseq file. it is not exepected that you could then rebuild that buffer of data on the fly. we are talking about it for this year though.

things like entering a child's name and it shows up on the megatree right in the middle of the song. generating current time or current temperature and creating the text to or into the existing buffer. we will ruminate on it.

  • The Brightest Lights are in a Childs Eyes
Though we suffered through many bugs during the session, for me it was a resounding success.  I learned alot, hopefully I can retain some of it.  I have many more questions, but hey, it's a while before the next show.  Thank you Sean (btw, I was logged in as Macginn)
