I really enjoy meeting the locals enthusiasts and finding out the basics about them, their show, location, what they have done and/or plan to do.   Also what they want to learn more about or share with others.   You can quickly get very focused on one topic that's either good or not really relevant to you.    I for one think we should all go around the room and give each person maybe 5-10 minutes to introduce themselves to the local group.   Then when we break up you might have a better idea who you want to talk to more in a smaller group.

I agree and like this part as well
Brian

I was wondering if there was a signup to attend this.  I'd like to go.

Thanks.

And here I thought I was the only sorry sap up this late.  Take your time on it.  I'm just trying to come up with a budget for the lights and the controllers for this year.

Thanks,

Rico

Will someone bring an EDM transmitter?  We would like to troubleshoot the Pi sound issue we're having.  PK thinks he's got it narrowed down but needs to do some testing with another transmitter.  Simply playing audio from our Pi into the transmitter and listen through a tuned radio.

Thank you!

Great!  I think we'll do direct into transmitter for comparison purposes... but your setup does sound clean from the street!

Just a bump on this thread... it's 11 days away!

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, perhaps we should decide how often we want to meet this year and come up with a strategy to cover all of the topics. When I posted, I was thinking more of a social type of event where we could discuss our successes and failures of 2013 as well as discuss our plans for the coming year. I really did not think people would be ready to dig in this early in the season. With that said, I have already jumped in with both feet and am ready to go.

For February I propose:
    Intro
Nutcracker - tailored to the audiences level of expertise
Falcon - tailored to the audience (I can tell you already I am the lowest denominator and need from the ground up)
Lunch / Mingle / Show and Tell
    2013 review / 2014 planning

Make and takes can be just about anything. I am interested in making some realistic looking tombstones for Halloween, the fireburst from the Cabella's fish habitat and PEX, Weber trees, a PVC poseable figure, Nutcracker models, set up audio equipment to record custom voice overs.

Let's collectively decide how often to meet and how much we want to try and accomplish each time. I am afraid if we don't have a plan, it will be information overload each time and not enough time spent on each topic.

Just my two cents. Speak up and let's come up with a schedule that meets everyone's needs.

Brian

My audio setup is a little more complicated than most, but if there's enough interest I can talk about voiceovers/produced audio elements and song editing (all of my songs were edited for length.)  I've considered doing free custom imaging for people in Colorado just because 1) I enjoy doing it, and 2) I think Demented Elf is expensive - that or I'm in the wrong business.

Building the Porcupine Sphere fire burst(s) has potential.

Halloween decorations: +1  I didn't add anything to Halloween this year because I was so focused on Christmas.  There's a video on YouTube of a tombstone but the guy had a projector on it and it looks like bugs/blood come out of it.  Pretty cool.

Steve,

I would love to see the Porcupine Sphere unit up close even if you don't do a formal demo on it.  I've seen them online and would like to see one if person to see if its something I might want to add to my display.

Thanks
Kevin

David,
Will you be bringing one of the new Falcon Active/Passive hubs for the rest of us to drool over?  ;)

Is there a head count? I know people will be bringing treats for the group and it would be good to know what is needed?

I know I would like to bring something to share...

Slight chance but I doubt it. The boards are beign sent to forwarder and then they will ship to me. I suspect early to mid next next week, just missing the Denver meeting. Darn Chinese New year.  :(
