custom grouping
« on: March 31, 2014, 01:02:37 AM »
Looking to make some pixel icicles like this.

   -- 1    10----11     20----21
       |      |      |        |        |
       2     9     12      19     etc
       |      |      |        |
       3     8     13      18
       |      |      |        |
       4     7     14      17
       |      |      |        |
       5___6     15___16
Will the grouping software allow me program one strand of nodes as icicles and a single roofline? Based on the graphic, i would need to group node 1, 10, 11, 20, 21, etc?

Thanks in advance,

Brian

Brian,

You most likely want ability to address each node so grouping is not what you are looking for. Your diagram looks like a vertical matrix, starting in left upper corner. string count of 10, 2 strands per string in Nutcracker.

I have several ideas as far as programming goes, I was just hoping I would not have to pick out each node in the "roofline". Right now, I am thinking I want to put a C9 cover on each of those and use just nodes for the "icicles" hanging below them. If not grouping, my next option I think is creating a model for each in nutcracker.

Thanks,

Brian

For the roof lines grouping could work for you. Custom grouping or standard grouping. Use custom grouping if the groups are different sizes. PM sent.
