I used the random effects generator in xLights and it generated this show: https://youtu.be/4thVCspAfK4

I guess switching to xLights has its perks! Very well done! Did you use projectors with scrims, or was it all pixel matrixes?

Yes, the projectors are projecting on a fabric called Chiffon. I got the recommendation off a Halloween site where they use it to project ghosts and things so they look suspended in the air. Gives a nice background/diffused effect.

Your mega-tree effects are awesome!  ...well, your whole show is awesome, but the mega-tree effects are amazing. I sure wish I could do that.

Are you talking tongue-in-cheek or are you serious? Using the random effects generator only resulted in only so-so effects for me when I've used it... it seems to me that the infinite monkey theorem would be needed to make good looking results with it.

You can get some interesting random effects sequences by doing multiple interations of effects eliminating the areas that you like from each subsequent iteration.  But still they may not be satisfactory to a lot of folks.

Gary, I was just kidding. I actually spent tons of time sequencing on this :-)

Awesome job!

How tall is that mega tree?   20-25 ft?  Id like to do something that tall in pixels.  How many pixels and what plan did you fabricate it from?
