Thanks for showing that basic layout deplanche.   I have been thinking about how to power up a matrix we are planning to do that will have 48 sets of 192 pixels (using James' 4'x8' chromamesh panels).   This setup will allow me to breakout power supplies into very neat packages.   Now just have to conceptualize how many enclosures to use, etc...

Dave--great work as always.   Thanks so much for everything you do for all of us who love doing this lighting stuff!!!!

Let me see if I understand this setup. Being first year beginner coming from LOR all this is new.
I get one of the F48 board & then connect with ethernet cable 12 of these boards.

Any help is appreciated

You are correct. Deplanche's diagram above lays it out for you.

Can I get a clarification here on the pixels per port?
"48 pixel ports are divided up into 3 groups with a configurable max number of pixels per port in each group. All three groups share a portion of a 1024 max pixels per port. The user can set ports 1-16 to have a max pixel count of 512, ports 17-32 to have max count of 256 and ports 33-48 to have max count of 256. Max pixels per port in each group must always add up to 1024".

Pixels per port clarification

As I can understand (maybe I'm wrong) the configuration of each group of port is exactly the same as when you have a F16v3 and 2 expansion boards, when you have to specify the number of pixel for the 16 ports of the controller, and then define the number of each expansion board (first board ports 17 to 32 and second board ports 33 to 48)
When you select " main boards and 2 expansion" for port mode on string port configuration web page interface a double slider appear, then with these sliders you can define how many pixel on the main board (ports 1to 16) and then you define the number of pixels per board 1 (port 17 to 32) and Board 2 (port 33 to 48) see fig from F16v3 manual. If you add the number of pixel for the main board and the number of pixel of each boards then this can't be more than 1024. So you have 3 groups of output exactly as presented for F48.

I imagine such sliders will appear on "string port configuration web page interface" of the F48 and this will be a necessary settings required

That's my understanding,

Alain

Hey LOUIS.  That is indeed the setup off of the F16V3 when using two expansion boards.  Considering that the F48 does not have expansion boards, I wonder where David will draw the distribution line.

Can someone who beta tested this board, and knows the setup for it, speak up and let us know how it is setup?  Thanks.

Thanks.  I think I am OK just fuzzy on the 1,024 per port or per port group.  IE I can run 128 pixels on all 48 ports, right?  I will have to set board to make sure the group total is 1,024 even though it is only 384.

I was not on this beta.

On the F48, Ports 1 to 16 would be like the Main Board, Ports 17 to 32 would be like Expansion board 1, and Ports 33 to 48 would be like expansion board 2.  Then the sliders would work just like they do for the F16v3.   The sum of the pixels on each port for the 3 different boards will be 1024.  It can be split any way you want.

So yes, you can run 128 pixels on all 48 ports.

That is my understanding also on this.

Ordered one on Monday and I have a couple extra receivers to play around with when it arrives.

hi Deplanche

Do you plan to write a user manual as for F16v3??? If so, could you let me know
I could prepare a French version of the F48

I am working on the manual now.  Taking much of it from the F16v3 manual and editing.  I'll let you know when it's closer to being finished, so you can translate.  Thanks.

Where is the power input for the F48.  I can't see it from the picture.

There will be 2 power input options.  Only one is shown in the current photo (the barrel connector)
