BBB Pixel limit
« on: April 16, 2018, 04:56:10 AM »
I was using my BBBW with a setup pushing about 1200 pixel.

When I was running the show the sequence play lagged out. The clock was ticking but my sequence was playing at about a 1/5th of the rate of one second.
It maybe my fault though since I changed the WS2811 timing to play my 1803 nodes. Would changing the clock speed increase overhead?
For reference clock was set at
450, 850, 1250.

My show was set at 40 fps I think this maybe the issue as well I will test a lower fps and see if that smooths things out.
Realistically how many lights can I expect a single BBB to push?

With the standard timing and 40fps, 800 is the absolute max.  The ws2811 protocol timing dictates that and nothing that can be done about it.   Your timing is slightly slower so it would be a bit less.
