Confirm my logic for port configurations
« on: October 02, 2018, 08:05:19 PM »
First time running F16v2-R with my equipment (Zeus16, Lynx SmartHub and Expresses).

Current channels of AC LEDs and Pixels.
1-512 are AC elements (don't have that many) (LEs)
513-1967 various Pixel elements  (used Lynx Smart Hub on PixelNet Univ 1)
4097-6976 MegaTree (Zeus16 on PixelNet Univ 2)
8195-17410 P10 panels for my sign

I'm going to be adding new pixel elements on roof, pixel floods and leaping arches.

FPP (main driver), BBB (matrix sign) and F16v2-R hardwired via router w/ wifi capability.  I will access remotely if necessary via WIFI.

2 main questions.

I want to use F16 to send pixelnet and DMX out.  Do I configure F16 serial output 1 and 2 to be pixelnet (1=start address513 and 2=start address of 4097) but only run one cable from port 1 to hub and then to zeus.  Port 3 and 4 would be DMX channel 1.  Port 3 cable to one side of yard of LEs and port 4 to other side of driveway to LEs).

Adding new pixel elements that the F16 will drive, I was planning on starting with address 8193 and go up from there with some variation of <512 channels per universe.  Do I start the E131 universes with U1 with start address of 8193?  I think I think I can do the E131 universes like the following... uni1 for pixel floods (5 floods x 3 channels); uni2,3,4,5 for my rooftop eaves (8705,9217,9729,10241); uni 6,7,8 for arches (10753,11265,11777).  The F16 string ports would be mapped to the appropriate E131 unis and channels.

I would move my matrix sign to start at 12289 but that is driven by the BBB configuration.

Am I in the right ballpark as far as the channel configuration? [/size]Am I missing anything?

I could be mistaken, but I don't believe that the F16 will output pixelnet data on any ports.  The serial ports will drive DMX for the LEs, but I don't think it will run the Zeus of the Lynx Hubs.

The F16v2, F16v2R and F16v3 can all output Pixelnet on the serial ports.
