On my controller the last few universes are showing red and those props are running, but glitching randomly.

The first 50 are good, the last 7 are red.

I don't have any F48v4 controllers, but think it is limited to 48 Ports.

So, then, how can the Control support up to 72 4 Channel receivers?
I have 8 receiver chains.
1-4 A
5-8 A
9-12 A +B
13-16 A+B
17-20 A
21-24 A
25-28 A+B
29-32 A+B+C
In Local test mode everything seems to work fine, without glitching, and all the models are active when I add them.
It is when I play a sequence from FPP that the glitching starts.
It is only affecting, Ports 25-28 on B receiver, and 29-32 on C receiver.
Everything is a Mirror of each other, symmetrical display, other than the C channel Receiver that is running some side yard pixels.
So, if I can have 1024 pixels per Channel, is that per Channel Divided by the Receiver count?  So, with 3 receivers, I can only have 342 pixels per receiver?  Of does the A, B, C ect, Count as one of the 48 ports?
I am confused.

I assume that you mean port?

Not really

Yes. 1A + 1B + 1C, etc. is the count for port 1. (But the 1024 per port is only in 32 port mode)

I think that is what happens when you go over 48 ports.  Probably mirroring ports 45-48 per board configuration settings picture.  Even the F16v4... if you install two expansion boards (16+16+16=48), and try to use the on-board receiver or DMX ports, the ports mirror some of expansion board ports.  Your test is not working, it just happens to be mirroring other ports running the same test patterns.

The F48v4 supports 12 chains.  (1 normal mode SR or up to 6 Smart Mode A-F SR per chain)  You will be limited to 704 pixels (680 average) per port in 48 port mode.

Because you can put up to 6 receivers on each RJ45 port (A-B-C-D-E-F) That is if you use the V4 SRx1 Blue.

How can you go over 48 ports? There are only 12 RJ45 connections and each connection is for 4 ports

Quote from: JonD on December 09, 2024, 01:55:54 AMProbably mirroring ports 45-48 per board configuration settings picture.

The mirroring that this refers to is the 4 On-Board Pixel ports. Those 4 ports will mirror one of the RJ45 ports depending on your board configuration.

Quote from: TheMinionHouse on December 08, 2024, 10:32:27 PMI have 8 receiver chains.
And you have almost 10,000 pixels using just 12 ports? (this is a clue)

This is probably due to a configuration problem. We could use several screenshots (please post screenshots from your computer, it shows more detail)
1. xLights Controller page
2. xLights Layout page
3. xLights Visualizer page
4. F48 E1.31 page
5. F48 Pixel Output page.
6. FPP Outputs Page with E1.31 tab open
You could jump in the Zoom Room if you want a better explanation and a walk through on how to properly configure your controller. I think you are missing a few concepts.
If you don't know what the Zoom Room is or how it works, this might help

I will get the screen shots tonight.

There is a DMX port in addition to the 12 RJ-45s, but I was referring to OP showing ports 49-57 listed in red and suggesting they could test these ports and were working fine.

The OP wasn't showing ports that were listed in red, those were universes being received listed in red, and I am pretty sure I know why and that is why I asked for screenshots.
I think that is what is throwing things off, he posted Universes but talking about ports and there is NO direct correlation between the two and I am 99% certain his misunderstanding of how things work has lead to some major mis-configurations.

TheMinionHouse

Here are my screen shots.
I am using the top 4 ports and the bottom 4 ports in the controller.

Maybe I did misconfigure it, but I am so frustrated I can't see the LED for the pixel at this point.

TheMinionHouse

I did find this...

Up to 48 universes will be shown in a single column, and up to 4 columns may be shown.  The different columns for each group of 48 universes will have different background colors, as shown in Figure 4-29.  This is for visual clarity only, and does not have any effect on the controller operation.

They could have picked a different color...   :o

Still having the glitching though.

LOL

Well, something looks a little odd. You posted 2 screenshots of your pixel outputs page from the controller and they are different? On one, you have models assigned to Ports 1-32 and the other 1-16.
Which one are you using?

Which receivers are you using?
Ports 29-32 look a little strange with nothing on receiver A

TheMinionHouse

Yea, I am using 17 through 32, I guess I had old screen shots in the folder from Last year.  Opps.
Sorry for that confusion.

I am using the Blue Smart ones, circa 2022.
Yes, 29-32 "A" is deployed and I have things plugged into it, just have not gotten around to assigning the models in Xlights.  It is Pixel modules inside my inflatables, not critical to my show.   They will get assigned this week.

Can we see this configuration?

If you press the test button on the remotes, how do the lights behave?
You might have a bad cable

I will snap shot the changes tonight and upload a video.
